Buckinghamshire restaurant guide

Royal Buckinghamshire is one of the most desirable places to live in the UK, with miles of glorious countryside, quaint villages, a rich history and all this within easy reach of London. One of the county’s big draw cards is the sheer quality of food: the area is something of a gastronomic stronghold and there are some truly exceptional restaurants in Buckinghamshire.

Marlow is a beautiful riverside town whose local residents include Robbie Williams and chef Heston Blumenthal. It is home to some excellent pubs, including the Michelin-starred Hand & Flowers and the Cheerful Soul (located within the Hare & Hounds pub) which was the victorious establishment in the Raymond Blanc TV Show ‘The Restaurant’ in 2009. There are plenty of international restaurants in Marlow too, including the award-winning celeb hangout Maliks, winner of ‘Best Restaurant (South East)’ in the 2009 British Curry Awards.

The jewel in Buckinghamshire’s crown has got to be the majestic Cliveden House. Once the reserve of aristocracy, the establishment has opened its doors to the public and is now a beautiful hotel with incredible grounds and a fine dining restaurant (Waldos), which is overseen by expert head chef Chris Horridge.
