Came here for my daughter's birthday as she has two children, my other daughter with one child, myself and husband. The only good thing was the play area for the children. We ordered Lasagne, only to be told they didn't have any, then why was it on the menu. The chips served to the children lukewarm, and the chips served with our sandwiches were luke warm and tasteless. The ham, eggs and chips came served with one egg, when asked where was the other egg, the waitress said at lunchtime only one egg is served. I pointed out to her that the lunchtime menu states two eggs. She went back in and brought out another egg instantly, which was cold, as were the chips. The drinks are overpriced. £6.50 for a glass of wine. £4.30 for a pint of beer. The icecream machine was faulty and icecream came out watery. Very disappointing birthday meal, won't be returning there.

Carvery good value and meat tender - especially good for kids as can choose vegetables to accompany the meat.

However, there were a few tables uncleared and then the Landlady proceeded to eat some of the left overs from her previous diners plates. A total 'No no' for anyone undertaking Front of House, especially the boss! I could not believe my eyes!

We also ordered a 'Combo Share' starter for us all to share. Food delivered to table in great time, but no plates to eat it on until I had to ask for them.

Lastly, a couple of the staff could have done with providing a smile for their customers.

Friendly welcome and really good choice of good quality food. Ideal for family. Carvery very good value and meat very tender. Lots of joky curiosities around the the restaurant.
