This is the second time I've tried to write a review for this outlet: let's hope it makes it online this time "foodplace", or I'll be in touch and my review won't be so favourable about YOU!!!!
Anyhow, the important People: KOPAS from Tranent. Been twice now: one I collected and 2nd time had food delivered.
On both occasions, food was piping hot and absolutely superb!
Gentlemen in the actual shop was polite, accommodating and informative. He was extremely industrious and managed to put together my food in under two minutes, which was a sight to see: he's done this before!
The gentleman who delivered (on time and with a smile and a joke) was as accommodating: he's done this before too! Delivery on time, food hot and just brilliant!
On this occasion we ordered the vegetable pakora: so tasty! A Hawaian pizza and my particular favourite, a mixed kebab (beautiful chicken and donner meat) with salad and sauce. The kebab came "all in", just like they used to! In the same carton with sauce over and therefore providing the ultimate pitta bread delight: soaked in sauce and wonderfully satisfying!
This wee shop deserves much more recognition than it has had. The food is beautifully fresh, so VERY tasty, well priced and they'll do anything to try to please. They deserve this rating and I'll be updating as well.
Try it, you will be most impressed! It's brilliant!

We hadn't been to Kopas in years. Nothing sinister, just hadn't been. Living in Longniddry, we used takeaway shops in close proximity to where we lived. Nothing wrong with that. Also nothing too much wrong with the food either.
So we (my good lady and myself) were looking for a change one evening. On our days off we usually treat ourselves to a carry out meal. In this instance, we thought we'd get pizza and kebabs. We called Kopas and the phone was answered by a very helpful and courteous man who told us our order of a mushroom pizza, a mixed kebab (chicken and donner meat) and a portion of the ubiquitous chip would be ready in around ten minutes! I duly left my house and arrived at the shop in just over ten mins. I was greeted by a very friendly guy who then put together our order within a minute or so. The food was hot and smelled so appetising! I paid a ridiculously low price and left with a menu tucked into my pocket.
No frills in Kopas: it's quite straightforward, no fancy stuff here, just pure honest cooking with great endeavour.
My wife's pizza was the best she'd had in years, she said. Hot, just the right amount of cheese for her and the box was almost grease free! That's a first for a while if I'm honest! Now on to the mixed kebab. Huge kebab with plenty of chicken which was absolutely superb. The donner meat was tasty too, complemented by salad and sauces, but unlike most places who now serve their sauces in little tubs and their salad in smaller containers this was just like old times. EVERYTHING served in one container!! How fantastic is that! It was moist, the pitta bread was soaked in sauce and this was how kebabs USED to be served! ABSOLUTELY SCRUMPTIOUS. We will now use this outlet from now on, without a shadow of a doubt! The gentleman informed me they also deliver, which most places do, but handy as delivery invariably is.
So to sum up: great Pizza, wonderful kebabs and pleasant courteous service. Price wise hard to beat to be honest. I was blown away by the taste and how moreish everything was. If you haven't tried it already, do so you will be most impressed!
