Quite simply the best places to eat in Hastings, fresh seafood prepared simply and cooked well. The meat options are good too, so often these let seafood orientated restaurants down but not here (great belly pork). Mussel chowder and scallops with black forest ham are my favourites.

Quite simply the best seafood in Hastings. The fish is always fresh and simply prepared. Great moules frites and seabass, their steaks are nice too.

Gets packed in the summer, so get there early!

i would just like to say to everyone at whites well done.
The food was fab and so was the service, as for the decor lovely 80 decor i don't think so, as last review stated , big oak tables with loads of room.
    very clean and well run.
They have a seafood counter in the front window so you can see that it's as fresh as you can get.
As for the food i had the crab platter lots of seafood oysters whole crab mussel tigger prawn and lots more and my partner had the t bone steak, go hungry as they are very big meals as must

My wife and I had what was, by some distance, the worst meal out we've ever had. Anywhere. Shame, as Hastings desperately needs some decent restaurants, and we're quite forgiving, but we felt badly ripped off. Alerted by the challenging decor (low-end eighties) we opted for safety with steak and scallops, as they couldn't get that far wrong, could they ? They could, taking "wrong" to places hitherto unknown. Surely there's only one way to cook both of these dishes, and that's the right way. Everything tasted as though hurriedly defrosted, the steak unseasoned, the scallops rubbery, everything piled onto a plate several sizes too small. The Eighties theme continued with a very amateurish salad, which looked and tasted as if from a tin. Worst of all was the total lack of interest from the prickly and combative maitre'd / owner. Maybe everyone leaves most of their meal and she's used to it, but the bill was brought without a word, and it wasn't cheap, but would have been expensive at any price. This is what the English used to call "honest food", although it is of course the exact opposite. I'm a local, and this restaurant is really not what we need.

Had a very nice meal at this restaurant, asked some locals and they said white's is the place to go if your hungry.
Well i can tell you greatfood and lots of it, very good staff that knew what they were doing which in this day and age makes a change.
The atmosphere was fun fun fun, i had the mussels big and plump and my partner had the rump all very nice.
