Went her as a large group, as we knew the owners. It is crowded, as it is always busy. As we were a large group, we got free garlic bread on the tables. Everything was delicious. Dessert was amazing. Wanted to return for my birthday, but it was closed! Gutted. Overall, a lovely place to eat.

We have been going to the same restaurant for years, same friendly faces, food excellent as always - nothing pretentious about this restaurant with the exception of the odd visitor.

Went here on the second night of our honeymoon. Called and reserved a table as we were told they were always busy. They reserved us their number one table set in a little alcove in the wall.
They were very attentive to all our needs, always checking everything was ok and even giving us a free glass of champagne as it was our honeymoon.
The food was amazing very tasty and served very quickly and exactly how we asked them to.
All in all a very enjoyable experience and would recommend this to anyone who is visiting the Bowness area. One thing I would say is BOOK as they are always busy.
