Villa Napoli has the feel of a traditional Italian restaurant with a good injection of family humour. Run by a husband and wife team it boasts a relaxed atmospere and great food.
Prices are fair, around £10-£15 for a main meal and £4-£6 for a starter. Not being a wine expert myself I left our choice of wine to the owner (£15) and found it very pleasant.
The kitchen is in the center of the building which I like because you can see straight in, personaly I am a fan of kitchens with "nothing to hide"
The menu offers the usual Pastas, Steak, Veal, Chicken and pizzas with a choice of great fresh made sauces.
It can get very busy on weekends and sometimes feels a little over crowded, especialy if there is a function or party on, the bar area is small but does have a few benches outside with heating.
All in all there are few places in Penarth that can rival the food at Villa Napoli and certianly none of the places that can are able to create such a relaxed setting.
