Union Jacks at Central St Giles is the first of celebrity chef Jamie Oliver's second chain of UK restaurants opened in partnership with American chef, Chris Bianco. The majority of the ingredients used will be British and the drinks list will also include a selection of English wines, beers, ciders and spirits.
The Union Jack's menu features flat breads with toppings inspired by British ingredients and dishes cooked in wood-fired ovens (think British pizzas). Examples being: "Stargazy" - Cornish sardines with shaved fennel, caramelised onions, rocket and fennel seed; or "old spot" - roast shoulder of pork with an apple and quince sauce, Stilton and watercress. For those that like something spicy, there is also the "chilli freak" topped with six different kinds of chilli.
Union Jacks is in the new Central St Giles development, situated close to Tottenham Court Road, New Oxford Street and Shaftesbury Avenue.
