With a revered music scene, world-class shopping and a nightlife that is hard to rival, it’s no surprise that the entertainment capital of Manchester’s city centre is home to more than two hundred international restaurants, catering to all tastes and budgets. Many of the restaurants in Manchester are clustered into areas of specialism, most notably the Curry Mile, Chinatown and Little Italy.

Indian restaurants feature heavily on Manchester’s dining repertoire and there are over 70 takeaways and restaurants in the infamous ‘Curry Mile’. The majority of these stay open well into the early hours of the morning, making the area very popular with Manchester’s huge student population and throngs of devoted clubbers.

Manchester also happens to have one of the highest Asian populations in Europe, and this ethnicity is represented by a wide selection of Chinese, Thai, Japanese and Nepalese eateries and takeaways. Many of these can be found in the Chinatown area, but Asian food is well represented all across the city centre. One of the city’s firm favourites is Chaophraya, a gourmet Thai restaurant which prides itself on offering an authentic Thai experience: you can even be transported to the restaurant by Tuk Tuk.
