Tommi's Burger Joint on Marylebone Lane is the first UK restaurant for the established Icelandic burger chain (which goes under the name of Hamborgara Bullan back home).
Burgers are cooked over an American gas fired grill and come with the classic American diner style garnish of iceburg lettuce, tomatoes, chopped onion and tomato ketchup. Also on the menu are rib-eye steaks and chicken in a honey sauce. To drink there are shakes, sodas and coffee (which is free to diners).
The restaurant is named after the chain's founder, Icelandic restaurateur an hotelier Tommi Tómasson.

I walk down Marylebone Lane several times a week, and when I saw a new burger place I couldn't wait to try it. On Wednesday I finally got my chance to visit. The interior is modern and minimal with exposed brickwork, simple wooden tables/chairs and a few funky light fittings thrown in for good measure.
I went for their "offer of the century" - a cheeseburger, fries and soft drink for £9.40, which I thought was good value - I'm happy if I get change from a tenner!
The burger was served medium as advertised, and although my preference would be for medium-rare this was in no way over-cooked; still pink in the middle and moist. The chips, which I ate with their "cocktail sauce" (tasted quite like burger sauce you get from a kebab shop), were good too - crisp on the outside and fluffy inside.
Yes, burgers are over-hyped at the moment - but these are with a try.
