The Table Cafe on Southwark Street is just around the corner from the Tate Modern (walk through the Blufin Buildings). It's a modern, canteen-style restaurant with additional seating outdoors in the warmer months. Food is sourced as locally as possible, and is always free from genetically modified ingredients. The restaurant prepares almost everything they serve in house - including baking their own breads.
The lunch and salad menus changes on a daily basis, and the evening menu on a monthly basis. Sample dishes include beef lasagne, roast organic chicken and a free range Welsh Black steak sandwich.
The Table Cafe is open for breakfast (or brunch at the weekends), lunch and dinner (see opening hours for full details). Food is available to takeaway at breakfast and lunchtime (in bio-degradable packaging), and they also offer a local delivery service.

Brilliant place for lunch (or breakfast or dinner!). Menu changes regularly, but some favourites seem to stick around a while. Feather blade steak sandwich is delicious.
Breakfasts are really good, recommend the "The Borough Full English" a great start to the day (will keep you going until about 4pm!).
