Until recently the Shepherds Rest was not a restaurant I would have really considered in the Westhill area. A recent evening meeting, then a dinner a few weeks ago & finally talking to a close friend, have however totally changed my thoughts.
Firstly at the meeting we were drinking with an odd packet of crisps & nuts thrown in. Two of those present however suggested something a little more substancial that the sixteen of us could share. It was simply a large portion of chips and a few sauces. It arrived within minutes of ordering was hot & well presented with a fistful of forks, paper napkins and sauces to accompany.
Secondly I was at a dinner with several of my colleagues from work. We had taken the precaution of pre-ordering but again the service, presentation, quantity & quality of the meal were all excellent.
I have also spoken to a close friend who took his family there for an evening meal a week ago and whilst it was very busy everyone agreed it was an excellent and reasonable place to eat.
I feel confident in recommending this as a good place to eat and will be back for a meal myself in the near future
