On arrival we were told that unfortunately there was an hour wait for food, not put off by this my partner and I ordered dinner. I opted for the beer battered fish and chips. When this turned up the only words I can describe for the fish is mush in batter, the fish was soggy so I raised my disappointment and was offered another choice so I chose steak, making it very clear that I wanted it well done. My original plate of food was left with me, so whilst waiting I ate a few chips, the peas unfortunately been inedible. My steak arrived, with peas, by which time I'd eaten the chips from my original plate!! The steak was medium at this point I'd lost the will to live as well as my appetite. This is not what I had expected from the Rose Inn. I would add that the member of bar staff dealing with my complaint was sympathetic and helpful.
