Perfect!
We took a diversion to visit The Pipe and Glass after a trip to The Deep in Hull. The restaurant has a Michelin Star, but dont let that put you off or make you think that it's all formal and 'posh'!
From the outside the pub looks like it's straight out of a picture postcard - especially as on the day we went, the sun was shining and the sky was bright blue.
We reported in at the bar and sat outside browsing the menu. Our order was taken outside and then we were taken through to the restaurant. The restaurant is so relaxing with comfy seats and the tables are beautiful.
The food was a little pricey, but, I think it was totally worth the price and you could taste the quality of the ingredients. I started with a crispy duck egg, new season asparagus and Yorkshire chorizo, the yolk was runny and the asparagus sooo tasty. My main of seabass fillet from the specials board was great - not too overfacing either.
After allowing time for the first two courses to settle we ate dessert outside as the restaurant was getting quite warm, I had a trio of Yorkshire apple, which, I have to say is high up there in the 'favourite pudding ever' category in my head!! It just tasted so fresh, and the flavour of the apples was just perfect.
The service was good, there was always someone there if we needed something.

My parents stumbled upon this gem of a restaurant in the snow when the main road between Beverley and York was closed, we went with them and managed to find it again which was a task in itself but well worth it. The setting is so picturesque a beautiful country pub surrounded by fields, roaring log fire inside and lovely furniture, the menu is devine the selection they have is like nothing Ive ever seen, depending on the time of year the menu changes when we went there was game, in the way of pheasant, rabbit, deer I had pheasant and my husband had a mixed dish with a pate, some deer and rabbit, the presentaion is superb and the tastes were devine, very friendly staff and even though they have a michelin star they remain humble and homely, we have visited twice now been amazed each time they do not open Mondays and only open 12-4 Sundays. We will most definately be back again and again
