I have to disagree whole-heartedly with the previous reviewer who didn't enjoy eating at The Haven. My family have been coming here for a few years now: we live locally and consider ourselves lucky to have such a good quality restaurant without having to travel to central London. Mainly we use the restaurant for special occasions, since it's not cheap, but here you get what you pay for. The food is always cooked with fresh ingredients. Even when, recently, we have gone at lunchtime for the set menu, the standard of food is still very high. We have always had excellent service, a choice of bread which surpasses any other restaurant we know of, and find the atmosphere relaxed and friendly. We've often been the last to leave, but have never felt rushed. This is a restaurant to be thoroughly recommended.

Had dinner here on a thursday evening which in theory should be a lively evening - it was not. The atmosphere in the restaurant was like Madam Tussauds after hours. The service, however was the real sticking point along with the menu that was short and at best averagely executed. The staff don't care and i came away feeling sorry for the owner as i felt it could have been so much better but having given it two chances in as many months and experiencing the same sort of evening, i will not be returning again!
