Excellent takeaway for healthy sandwiches, baked potatoes, chips & cheese, soups and ice-creams. Portions are bordering on overly generous with cheese heaped on your rolls and tuna spilling out your baguettes. Ancillary items like health bars are possibly overpriced but 60p for a can of juice is becoming a rarer thing these days. All in all a fantastic take-away whether you are pigging out on comfort food or having a healthy snack.

I visited this restaurant today with my partner for lunch. We ordered two specials from the menu, a bacon club sandwich served with chips and I had the "homemade" macaroni cheese served with a jacket potato plus two drinks. First of all the staff are rude and unhelpful, the food arrived from the waitress who I have also seen cooking, she threw our meals on the table causing my partner to loose half his chips and the macaroni on my plate to spill over onto the table. I couldn't believe it to be honest, but that wasn't all that we were unhappy with. I started to eat my meal and the macaroni cheese was just about warm and it tasted of nothing, I have eaten better out of a tin, then my jacket potato was hard in the middle and the side salad was limp and brown like something you find in your fridge when you forget about it.
My partners sandwich was edible so he ate it but I wasn't happy at all, he also tried mine to see what was wrong and he agreed that it was awful.
He went up to the service area near the till with the plate of food and proceeded to complain, he spoke to the manager who didn't know what to do and just looked at my partner and then handed over the complaint to the waitress/cook, she said there was nothing wrong with it and that the salad was mean't to brown as it is a particular one that is brown, I have never seen a brown limp lettuce served anywhere before. He then got told how all the other customers love the macaroni cheese and basically called him a liar and was annoyed that he was even daring to complain. He was then told it could be warmed up if I liked in the microwave, or I could have a soup or sandwich instead which costs half of what my original order was.

I didn't want anything else, I just wanted to leave so we paid (believe me, we could have walked out without paying if we could have), the manager knocked a small amount off the meal, like charging us for small drinks instead of large, we got no apology.

If you like over-priced basic cooking at fancy prices served by rude, unhelpful staff then this is the restaurant for you but I'd avoid it like the plague.

Delightful restaurant with friendly atmosphere and good wholesome food. Very good value for money and childfriendly corner with lots of childrens books and a large Thomas the Tank engine (to sit in).
Try the soups: homemade traditional style which please the pallate.
