Nice enough place, but very expensive for pub food, though it is more upmarket than scampi & chips! Burger £16.50!! Cost £80 for 2 and that's not with loads of drink either.

A really good place for special occasions - food is a step up from the usual pub grub and there's a really relaxed atmosphere. Lovely staff too.

I've eaten at The Cowdray quite a few times and I've really enjoyed every meal that I've eaten there. I'm always spoilt for choice when selecting dishes from the menu and the staff are always really friendly and very welcoming. It's worth booking a table if you're going at the weekend though as they're often really busy.

The Cowdray is an excellent, reliable restaurant (and a nice little pub too). When I lived locally, this was a regular haunt - somewhere to go when we fancied decent food at a reasonable price. The food is simple, but imaginative and the service is friendly and efficient. The menu is regularly updated in keeping with the seasons and they have a specials board too.
