Have been visiting Tasty Tuckers regularly for a number of months now.
During this time I can't remember having a bad meal.
The food is of excellent quality and the portions are very big - great value for money. There is always a very good selection and the cakes are fantastic too.
Highly recommended if eating in Chester-le-Street.

I am quite hard to please when it comes to food, but went to tasty tucker and it was fantastic! I had a hot beef sandwich with roast potatoes, but bought six different choices for family and everything was 1st class. I will be there every day off from now on.

Our first visit to tasty tucker and won't be the last they sell the best peach Melba home made I've ever tasted and the fresh food cooked on the premises looked amazing.

Well i was a bit sceptical at first when my dad said we should go and get some dinner to take home, as I'm a really fussy eater and don't really enjoy any meals like pub meals, sandwich shops etc..... but me and my mam went in and there was 2 counters 1 with hot food and pastries the other with the most eye tempting cakes I've ever seen, so my mam got a steak pie with I think mash or roasts and I got a chicken curry half rice half chips. I think my dad got something similar but don't remember, the service was great as for hygiene I thought it was up to scratch and never noticed anything that would worry me (not as the previous comment mentioned). Anyway I then selected a dessert as well...
When we got home and got eating the food was great the steak pie I tried of my mam was fantastic with proper steak and not like the tinned stuff from Greggs or Peters, the Curry was great with big chunky home made chips FANTASTIC!
The cakes were just as good the peach melbas are Huge but TASTY too... It is beyond me why anyone would go to Greggs or Peters for pastries or cakes When they have tasty tucker there.
Also I have been several times since with the same views GREAT VALUE for money.
I thought I would comment as I think its unfair to give this place a rating from one comment when I have been multiple times and tasted and witnessed a different service.
Thanks

Visited the Tasty Tucker for a take away cake with my Mam. We ordered a Walnut Cake and a Chocolate Tiffin. Both lady's served the customers in front of us serving there cakes and handling money. Then we got served, the lady took our order and picked the cakes up with her hands and then fed us our change. No tongs in the 21st century? Hygienic for a new cake shop!!!! Anyways we got home to eat our cakes. £2.90 for them both. Over priced after been put off by having money germs all over it but never mind. My mam ate her walnut cake and after the first bite said it was cr*p, stale and dry and it was been left open ended and uncovered, so much so it went in the bin. My chocolate tiffin was ok but nothing amazing. I certainly would not ever be back in a rush if even again! One pieces of advice, use tongs it looks disgusting!
