Chef Omar Allibhoy trained under Spanish chef Ferran Adria at El Bulli (at the time, considered the best restaurant in the world) before becoming head chef at El Pirata de Tapas. He then opened Tapas Revolution in London's Westfield shopping centre at the start of 2011.
There is a large open kitchen which is surrounded by a bar area where customers can sit and enjoy their food (there is also seating at tables which is more suitable for large groups or those with children).
The menu mixes favourites such as patatas bravas (potatoes with a spicy tomato sauce) and tortilla de patatas (Spanish omelette with potatoes and onions) with more contemporary offerings such as sherry braised Iberico pork cheeks, and chicken cooked in a vegetable sauce with cumin and saffron. Customers can order from the Tapas menu or choose one of the set menus created by the chefs.
Tapas Revolution also offer sandwiches both to eat in, or for takeaway.
There is also a Tapas Revolution at Bluewater shopping centre in Kent.
