T and Cake was established in 2011 by Stephen and Tracy Jackson. The couple used to own the fine dining restaurant; The Weavers over in Golcar but gave that up in favour of a different challenge.
T and Cake is in the heart of Almondbury on Northgate. The cafe opens Monday to Saturday from 9 am and serves up a selection of sandwiches, things on toast and cakes. At the front of the cafe there are a selection of locally produced foods and sometimes there are some surplus vegetables and fruit for sale from their own farm.
All the cakes are made by Tracy and most of the ingredients in all the food are grown by themselves or are from local suppliers. The cafe is licensed with an emphasis on locally brewed drinks (the cider is from nearby Holmfirth).

Attractive decor, good food, rude and impolite service unfortunately. Table clearing whilst members of the party still eating

My family and I love T and Cake. The food is delicious. I used to really love the Weavers Shed at Golcar, so was very pleased to here Tracy and Stephen had opened this cafe, and nearer to where I live. It gets very busy, as there are not too many tables, but it is worth the wait! Yum yum!!! If only they could open on the occasional evening that would be great!

Perfect place for lunch - relaxed atmosphere in a lovely old building. Simple food, but done very well. Favourites so far are the Italian meatball sandwich (was a special, hope it finds its way on to the menu!), ruben sandwich (they make their own salt beef) and the croque monsieur. Also partial to their chips.
Sometimes around lunchtime there is a bit of a wait for a table, but I don't think I've ever waited for more than 10 minutes (I would wait longer!).

I really like T and Cake. It's a little cafe in Almondbury and it's worth the detour if you're anywhere near. I have visited a few times over the last few months and have had good quality, decent food. There is always a friendly welcome and sometimes you'll have to wait a little bit for a table as they're often very busy.
The menu is full of tempting cakes with all the cakes being made by the cafe themselves.

Stopped at this little cafe by chance when going though Almondbury, a great place for lunch. Good choice of sandwiches and small hot dishes - had the croque monsieur which was fantastic, gooey cheese and decent ham. Triple cooked chips with parmesan and truffle oil were great too.
Charming building and simple decor makes for a really nice environment too. Not got a sweet tooth myself, but the cakes went down well with my dining partner (they sell them to takeaway too).
Would love to see what this place could do did if it opened for dinner.
