Taking it's name from the Italian word for snack, Spuntino is the latest offering from restauranteurs Russell Norman and Richard Beatty (who are behind two other Italian inspired Soho resturants: Polpo and Polpetto). The kitchen is run by former Polpo chef Rachel O’Sullivan. Food will be Italian, with New York influences and consist of snack-sized dishes such as meatball sliders (small buns filled with treats such as meatballs, salt beef from Brick Lane with mustard or ground beef and bone marrow), zucchini, chilli & mint pizzetta and truffled egg toast.
Drinks served at the bar will include cocktails such as Bronx (Martini and orange juice) and Sazerac (a whisky cocktail originating in New Orleans).
As the restaurant is small (seating only 25 diners), bookings will not be taken at any time (for this reason, the restaurant does not publish a phone number). Spuntino opened on 14th March 2011.
