What a disappointment. If you want to sit and wait for a restaurant to prioritise it's take away orders then this is the restaurant for you. We waited for an hour for our starters and they were so poor we refused to pay for them. Due to this the waiter said he would fast track our main course and we still waited over a further 30 mins. They are destroying their restaurant experience and should decide between being fast food or a restaurant.

I am a frequent visitor to the Spice Garden and have always been served superb food by pleasant personable staff.
Regarding the previous review on this page, I can only assume that Mr Gladwin is not a regular eater of curries, as any connoisseur of Indian food will know that Chicken Chat is a korma based dish, whilst I assume he wanted to order Chicken Tikka Chat which is a mossala based dish.
I would advise Mr Gladwin not to give up on the Spice Garden, but maybe to ask the well informed staff which dishes would be more appropriate to his tastes.
I personally have very rarely had cause to complain about any of the food served to me at this restaurant, and any problems I have had have been handled quickly and to a satisfactory result, whether I have been eating in or takeaway.
One word of advice! If you order takeaway on a Saturday night between 7-9pm be prepared for a wait!

No argument with the price or the time it takes to arrive at my door, but there is clearly a chef who is either uneducated in indian cuisine, lazy or just doesn't care in operation at this place.
Having been persuaded my better half to give the Spice Garden a 2nd chance after receiving a Chicken Korma pancake when ordering a Chicken Chat a few months ago, I waited to see what surprise I would be presented with this time.
The Masala looked authentic enough when it arrived; but after squeezing a piece of chicken to cut it and seeing some 'Korma' coloured sauce pop out, I began to wonder. On tasting, my fears were confirmed as I realised that my Masala was in fact a Chicken Korma dyed red!
More out of intrigue than enjoyment, I gave it a few more mouthfuls but the bland taste continued.
Why anyone has recommended this place is beyond me? It is easy to see why the Wirral Tandoori can charge a lot more for their impeccable food.
I do not understand why the chef believes he can treat people like idiots and hope that nothing comes of it. Again, price good, food awful. My advice would be to ring the other place!
