    Congratulations Saffron on the update.
This was my favourite curry house in Badford with few rivals anywhere outside London , but it had become tired.I tried various alternatives because I tired of the declinein standard but nothing compared for the quality of food.
I am delighted that Saffron is now redecorated , refurbished and restored to a top class eatery.
The decor is so counter-culture it is refreshing; the wait staff also seem to have a new enthusiasm ; and the food is as good as ever - and there is talk of a new menu. Lets hope it maintains the good value.
    Welcome back Saffron .
You led the initiatives in Indian dining in Bedfordshire; I am pleased you have taken back your crown. And I hope those who felt let down when you lost your way will return and share in the positive experience

This is my favourite Indian restaurant. The food is lovely and the the service is great. I would recommend this place above all the others on Tavistock Street!

They also do take aways and delivery for a small charge to our village which has made me very happy!

Very disappointing food. We ordered 3 curriies. Mine was a chicken tikka masala. A hot plate arrived for our dishes of curry but only 1 curry was served in a little copper bowl and could be kept warm on the hot plate. Why??. Mine was served on a huge cold dinner plate and looked awful. A sea of bright red sauce with a few cubes of chicken in the middle is apparently Saffron's interpretation of chicken tikka masala and it tasted like a pudding! it was sweet and devoid of any spices or the tomato base. I sent it back had some spice added and asked for it to me served in a dish not on a plate. The next attempt was better.

There is a takeaway outside bedford station called Curry in a Hurry which sells exactly that same kind of psychodelic conconctions. Bright yellow and red condiments and this red curry. Just how much artificial colouring do they use I wonder. I asked the waiter if they also cooked for the station outfit and was told no "thats my uncle".

The rest of meal was OK, cobra beer was good!
    Will go elsewhere next time
