Pollen Street Social is chef Jason Atherton's first restaurant as chef-patron. The restaurant is intended to have an informal feel (hence the 'social' in the name) and seats around 60 in the main dining room. Private dining areas are available including a sommeliers table. The restaurant was awarded a Michelin Star in 2012.
The main restaurant menu features a wide choice of both hot and cold starters (which can also be eaten "tapas style" as sharing plates), followed by a smaller choice of main dishes. Alternatively there is a three course set menu. The restaurant also has a separate bar serving cocktails and tapas.
The restaurant also has a dessert bar, where customers can watch chefs prepare their desserts from unusual choices such as baked beetroot sorbet, frozen yoghurt & basil ash meringue or watermelon, candied goat's curd & basil sorbet. The desert bar is available both to diner and for "walk ups" if you fancy popping in for a treat.
The restaurant accepts reservations for the main dining area, but not for the bar area where the tapas menu is served.
Pollen Street Social is a few minutes walk from Hanover Square and Oxford Circus tube station, and is close to busy shopping areas Oxford Street and Tottenham Court Road. Pollen Street Social opened in April 2011.
