First ate here last year, service was fantastic. The manager spent time going through the menu with us, finding out likes and dislikes and recommending dishes. The food was fantastic, easily the best curry I've had, and I've eaten at a lot of Indian restaurants! Well worth every penny. Waters were friendly and attentive without it looking like they were trying to rush you which is a pet hate. Taken various friends since who all agreed with me that it is top class, and worth every penny. I wouldn't go anywhere else for a curry and can't recommend it enough.

The best indian restaurant ever,i have been returning to Bollywood for over 12 years due to it`s outstanding food quality, friendly staff and great atmosphere
i have never had to complain about any of the food, but did wait once (and only once) for for nearly an hour to be seated due to it`s very busy popularity(but very well worth the wait)
The majority (not the minority) reviews speak for itself
    EXCELLENT

I have had the pleasure of eating at this restaurant on a number of occasions and each time it gets better!

My business parner, paul and U take clients there for meals and everyone without exception says how much they enjoyed the experience. we will be going again over the next few weeks and no doubt the experience, food and staff will all be first class.

Planet Bollywood offer FIVE STAR service food and atmosphere. We have used the Planet for family parties, business entertaining and more intimate meals. Always greeted with a smile and a very warm welcome. I have clients from South Wales who insist that we have dinner at Planet Bollywood after a meeting. The menu is comprehensive and advice is always available and welcomed. The recent revamp has turned the place into a modern stylish place to meet and eat. The quality of the food is always of a high standard, and the overall value for money is on target.
I feel sure that the competition will be worried about Planet Bollywood.......

Well time to set the record straight i think !!! While taking in the comments of the last 3 customers i can only say we have as a family been using Bollywood for over 3 years and we have found the food to be of a higher standard than most restaurants around here .
The staff have always been extremely helpfull courteous and very friendly and on the occasion or two there has been a problem quick to sort it out to our full satisfaction , in fact i have found that they really try to serve the meals to your specific requirements .
Iam sure that anyone who tries it here will not be dissapointed .
Keep up the good work lads..and Thanks from an appreciative Curry Monster

Have to agree with some of previous comments. Have been to this restaurant before in a large party and it was ok. However, took friends a couple of weeks ago and the service was very poor, the food not as hot as it should have been and had to wait far too long to be served and between courses We had a young child in the party and it should have been taken into account with respect to the delay in service. I shall not be returning. There are better restaurants round the corner. Smart decor needs to be matched with smart food and service, alas,on this occasion it was sadly lacking. Staff also need to correct their seeming lack of interest, they appeared far too blase and unconcerned about our situation. A couldn't care less attitude in business is not the way to go.

The worst curry I have ever had...Dull menu, rude staff, appauling service, food so cold and greasy it was inedible. Over-priced. I will not be going back there again. Avoid.

My partner and I chose Planet Bollywood in Stoke for a celebratory meal. We were shown upstairs to a eye-streamingly brightly lit but clean table and promised by the rose petal sprinkling waiter 'the best curry we had ever tasted'.The menu was large but primarily balti dishes and we perused it to a somewhat iffy piped 1980s musical montage. We chose a simple starter of Poppadoms, chutneys and Onion bhaji. The poppadoms were fine but the bhaji looked like small veggie burgers, perfectly pre formed, and i expect straight from the freezer...In fact, they were just about warm. For our main course I ordered Chicken Sag Paneer which arrived in a grubby balti dish...The chicken was sparse and TINY pieces, ghee was congeled around the edges and the whole dish was smothered in grated cheddar cheese, absolutely NOT paneer. This was further compounded by the dish being so cold that at no point did the cheese even begin to melt. I had also ordered a lemon rice but was served a heavily tumeric coloured, lemon free rice swimming in sea of ghee. My Partner had ordered a Prawn Patya - vindaloo hot. What he recived can only be described as a red shrimp soup. The sauce had the consistancy of water, was tandoori red, flavourless and contained approximately 5 shrimps, not even worthy of prawn status! On the upside, this dish was vaugely warm. On complaining to the previously friendly waiter the insults began. He accused us of not knowing good food and probably living on pot noodles. (Both of us have traveled in india and been avid curry-o-holics for at least the last 30 years!) He was very rude and aggressive and tried to make us pay £30 for the meal that we had not touched. He would not taste the food himself nor was there an offer to replace it. He also accused us of being cheats out after a free meal, his aggression grew and we left paying for our startes and drinks. My personal view is that Planet Bollywood nedds to spend less time on its fancy, brightly lit decor and more time on staff recruitment and training! Truly the WORST curry dining experience ever. We left here and walked up the road to the EXCELLENT Rose of Kashmir restaurant, where we had a stunning meal and truly wonderful service.
