I must disagree with previous review that this is the best restaurant in Greenock.
I personally believe the recently opened Tribeca to be much better. Morgans however is better/easier located and I think this is its main strength.
Service on a quiet lunchtime was generally poor. The waitress seemed bereft of charm.
Her opening line was ` Are yous ready tae order ` and a smile or indication of a desire to be of assistance was noticeable by its absence.
The younger waitresses were pleasant but at times difficult to attract attention to as they were enjoying their conversation.
My wifes chicken dish was ok. My Sirloin steak was ok too, and perfectly cooked for medium rare, but at £17 I didnt expect to pay £1.25 for a knob of garlic butter. My other gripe was that the plate my steak was served on was cold long before my meal was completed.
Decor is a bit tired now and could be refreshed.Despite the restaurant being empty we were requested on tel booking the day previous to vacate our 12.30 meal by 2.pm ??
At £40 plus for a 2 course lunch with a glass of wine and 1 serving of tea I did not consider this to be good value, and I am not inclined to visit again.
