I am amazed to have seen the review from Lindsay, to say the least. First of all, how can she compare Zucca with Strada? They are like comparing a 5 star hotel and a Travel Lodge.

Now to speak about L'Artista. We have been going to this fabulous restaurant ever since it opened 30+ years ago. We have taken numerous friends and they have gone back many times also. We have been throughout the year, Christmas Day and also many New Year Eve's and have NEVER been disappointed.

We are going again on Saturday and taking new friends with us and we are looking forward to it already. Long live L'Artista and the staff.

Obviously Lindsay must be a very sad person.

Arguably the best restaurant in Chingford, serving consistently delicious food in a very professional manner.

Service is impeccable and welcoming. Traditional upmarket decor with well chosen quiet background music.

We love this restaurant. The food, service and attention to detail is superb! The management and staff are genuine and we always feel very welcome. The restaurant has been established for 3 decades and it shows!

We have just viewed their 2011 Christmas Day and New Year,s Eve Menues both of which are superb and very keenly priced.

Our only advice would be that they should activate their talked of website, showing their menus and maybe giving some mid week offers.

    Go and enjoy.

L'Artista is a really good family run Ristorante Italiano, service is excellant and staff always very attentive, yes there are cheaper restaurant chain options if you are into that kind of thing? However, if you want to feel welcome and a valued customer plus enjoy high quality food and good wine then I highly recommend this restaurant...
My wife, 2 daughters and I reguarly enjoy visiting this restaurant.

We have very high expectations of eating out in Restaurants the food must be freshly cooked to order with an excellence of service, in every aspect L'Artista never lets you down, Batista and Franka the Italian owners give a warm welcome along with Chris the restaurant Manager and other staff that make everyone feel special as you walk in and when you are leaving.

The fresh food on the menu and service is excellent, as we visit once a week we can speak from hands on experience, cleanliness is of the highest standard, the restaurant atmosphere is continental it is certainly not dated!!

If there was a Premier League for Restuarants L'Artista would be the equivalent of Manchester United.

Lindsay, I beg to differ. I've recently moved to the Chingford/Woodford area and have dined at L'Artista on a few occasions, both with my family and work colleagues and am yet to have a bad meal.

I don't know how you can compare L'Artista to a Strada restaurant, the food alone is superb and good value for money. It’s much better than most Italian restaurants you'd fine in Central London.

I'd highly recommend L'Artista to anyone.

Like a 1970's timewarp. Good points - attentive staff, all male.Almost too efficient? A family feel to the restaurant with obvious loyal, local, following. Decor very 1970's Italian restaurant (think - The Spaghetti House?). However the food overpriced and just adequate. My sardines a bit dry and garnish one drab lettuce leaf. The lamb cooked well (medium) but veg. only ok - over cooked saute potatoes and courgettes in batter. Maybe we are used to good Italian food and modern decor. Zucca, Strada... It was too expensive for the standard of food on offer and why did they start turning some of the already dim lights off at the bar end of the restaurant while we were still eating? We won't be going back.
