Jesters Diner on Morton Peto Road opens every day for breakfasts and for lunches every weekday. In the evenings, their "Dial Your Diner" service offers takeaway every night except Mondays (breakfasts are also availble for delivery - see opening hours for details).
The menu includes all-day-breakfasts, sandwiches (including their own "phat boy" 12" subs), burgers, grills and British favourites such as hot pot, scampi and roast dinners (pork or beef).
If you are REALLY hungry, you can take on "The Jesters Challenge" and try to eat one of their "Kidz breakfasts", which takes it's name from the fast that it weighs 9lb - about the same as a small child. The breakfast fills a two and half foot square plate and consists of a staggering six fried eggs, 12 rashers of bacon, 12 sausages, sauté potatoes, mushrooms, two hash browns, four pieces of black pudding, baked beans, four slices of fried bread, four slices of toast and four slices of bread and butter! The "Kidz" will set you back a very reasonable £15, but it is free if you can eat it in an hour (most people fail miserably!). There are, of course, more sensible options on the menu with the "big boy" all-day-breakfast at £6.25, or the heartier "fat boy" at £8.25.
Delivery is free, and the drivers carry chip-and-pin readers so you can pay by card without giving details over the phone.
