Istanbul Delight in Colchester opens every evening for both takeaway and delivery (minimum order of £8 within a 4 mile radius or £15 for delivery up to 7 miles away). Alongside kebabs, burgers, southern-fried chicken and pizzas (9, 12 and 14 inch) the takeaway offers a few Greek dishes such as kleftico and moussaka (lamb or vegetarian) and dolma (stuffed vine leaves).

Istanbul delight? More like Istanbul sh*te. Ordered from here tonight because our usual place, bodrum, had waiting times of over an hour. Mistake! They said there would be a 45 minute wait but actually took over an hour and a quarter. We both had chicken shish kebabs which were substandard. The chicken was dry and didn't have any flavour, the bread seemed stale, and their special Istanbul sauce was just tomato sauce mixed with onions. Chips were the best bit and they were soggy. Quite pricey too. Overall 2/10

Omg how this is the worst takeaway/delivery ive ever had the displeasure of encountering!!! - RANK
Firstly I paid the best part of £20 for a doner kebab, chips 'thin crust' pizza, Garlic bread with cheese etc...
but when it turned up (45 mins) later, what a disappointment - all items were very cold the pizza was like bread/undercooked & cold yuk!!!
Garlic bread was delivered in a box wrapped in paper, that all the cheese/garlic/stuck to & left me with a cold soggy bread that was burnt black round the edges??? the kebab (also cold) was shredded into tiny bits (dregs of the meat) ect - all was inedible.
Generally I'm not a complainer (espesh where food is concerned) but it was that bad I had to complain, fair play tho they said they'd replace, however someone turned up within 5 mins to collect the old & then we waited 35mins for the new - that was just as bad if not worse!!! binned the lot!!!! - waste of money - theres plenty of other kebab restaurants so if you want a good one? don't order from here!!!!

WOW!
There aren't many Kebab shops who can consistently give you FRESH doner meat.
Portion sizes are good, a little on the expensive side, but as far as kebab shops go, this is the one that sets the bar.

Well where does one start to appreciate the god like divine that is Istangebul Delight, this pilgrim has scoured thease barrron lands in the search for self enlightenment, from the Vatican of Rome to the Holy land of Jeruselum with no succsess this Monk began to loose hope in the Almighty Lord himself.
However the Lord works in misterys ways after all readers, apon reaching the Warlock stricken town on Colchester a humble blacksmith guided me into the light which presented itself as a beaten menu.
I swiftly turned to my companion Logpui Mucgui a exalted paladin of the Cantabury region for his aid in map reading skills, he turn to me in an almost mocking manner and said "Fly you fools tis a menu for Istanbul Delight shockingly good food at low low prices".
38 days and nights went but finally Istanbull Delight shined like a halo on the most purist of mortals, eventually this pilgrimage was over as I opened the door got on the floor everybody watch that dinosaur.
