Called in last evening(early) after a visit to the theatre, hadn't booked and told initially no table but could be fitted in provided we had finished by 7.30,no problem as we had a bus to catch. My wife and I had a ribeye steak each and we like our beef rare or bleu, when it came i thought,MMMM, this may not be as i like it as it was rather thin and i am old fashined and normally like my steak thick cut, i had to rethink my ideas as the meal was superb and the flavour of the beef was beautiful. We had a Rhubarb Panacotta to share after, the presentation was lovely and tasted great.
The wine we had was in English called "The Treasure" a lovely Shiraz and at the price of £15.90 very reasonable compared to some restaurant prices.
Already planning our next visit in a couple of weeks

Delicious food, very refined cooking. Miles ahead of anything else in Wakefield, and many others nearby with far higher prices! My steak was the best I've ever had.
Service was good, but I guess we had the same waitress as the previous reviewer... she needs to work on her confidence and there is no reason for her not to be confident as she is doing a great job in a lovely restaurant.

Visited for a quick mid-week lunch while in Wakefield. The club sandwich was delicious, and brilliant value at £5.45 (including a generous portion of chips). Friendly service.
Recommend.

Me and my partner went in on Monday, the food was amazing. We both got a three course meal at an amazing price of £18. Great value for the food they served. I recommend eating there and I would go again!
The front I house staff were lovely and welcoming, although their experience isn't top notch, as our waitress who served our starter didn't yet seem confident but was well mannered (which can be understandable as it is a new place) they deserve 5 stars for their manners and service. Thank you for a great meal.

We had a lovely dining experience at Iris. The front of house could possibly do with a little more experience - we were first turned away as there were no available tables but decided to go back and try to book in for an hour later and when we did (5 minutes after first trying) we were told a table have come free and throughout our meal there we two sets of 4 seater tables free as well as a six seater! However, this did not affect our lovely evening. The food was delicious. We both had 3 courses at £18 - fantastic value and both loved our choices. You must give in and have a dessert as they were probably the best dishes - that isn't taking anything away from the other dishes I am just trying to say how good the desserts were!
A lovely, lovely evening. Great food, great value and a nice atmosphere.
