Last night we had a prty of 7 booked to eat, upon our arrival the booking had been lost, even though I had confirmed earlier the day, we were placed right by the door, very cold. We then placed our drinks order, requesting a jug of water, his never arrived, we had to wait 30 min for our starters and then one guests starter had been forgotten, No meal check was done during or meal, as it was a birthday party booking we had brought a cake in and when we asked that it be brought to the table, we had to wait 15 min and I had to remind the waitress. Here comes the worst I am afraid... After we had our cake, there was half left over so we asked that it get put back into the box so we cold take it home for the children. After a further 10 min of waiting I went up to the manager and requested the cake and it was returned with half missing. I took this matter up with the manager and she rather sheepishly returned to or table with the balance of the cake that had been cut into pieces. You an imagine how embarrassing this was for me in front of my guests.
What makes this whole experience so bad is that no apologies was offered or any explanation given. I can not believe that the staff helped themselves to the cake. If it was not for the fact that the food was reasonable good, we certainly would not return. If you want a special evening, this is not the place to go.

We love Thai Quisine and the food at The Giggling Squid is about as good as it gets. Have eaten their so many times I have lost count and I fully intend on eating their many more times in the future. Infact just the thought of it is making me hungry, I think I may order a take out to see how well the food travels. Get yourself down and chow down...

Have eaten here at least 7 times and recommended it to several colleagues. I think the Giggling Squid is possibly the best Thai restaurant I have ever eaten in. Fantastic!

I have eaten twice in the Giggling Squid in Crawley and am about to book another 2 evenings. My first meal was in the evening and all three of us found our food delicious. The rustic feel to the restaurant immediately relaxes you and the friendly service is very efficient. I loved the old wooden school seats. My second meal was at lunchtime and we had one of the tapas plates. It was a taste sensation. We tried to decide which of the dishes (my husband and I ordered a different set each and tried all the dishes between us) was our favourite. However they were so different in flavour, and all equally superb, that we couldnt decide. That was a first for us!
