Don Giovanni's has been serving authentic Italian food at the heart of Manchester since 1984 (having relocated to the current site in 2007).The menu features both traditional and more contemporary dishes, with plenty of choice for vegetarian diners. Both the pasta and the pizza dough made in the restaurant's own kitchens daily.
Diners can start with antipasti dishes such as calamari fritti (deep fried calamari served with a garlic mayonnaise); or carpaccio con rucola (beef carpaccio with shavings of parmigiano cheese and a dressed rocket salad). Mains on offer include a good choice of pastas dishes, risottos and pizzas as well as a selection of meat and fish dishes. Examples from the menu being: Filetti di sogliole con risotto limone (Lemon sole served with a risotto of crab, rocket and lemon); and Scaloppina di vitello Alexandra (veal escallops served with a sauce of wild mushrooms, white wine and cream).
The wine list features - as you would expect - predominately Italian wines, with a good choice by the glass (from £4.20 for a small glass).
In addition to the a-la-carte menu, Don Giovanni's offer a pre-theatre menu at £16.95 for two courses and coffee; and an express lunch menu at £12.95 for two courses plus coffee.
Don Giovanni's also offer a private dining room which can accommodate groups of 15-40 people.
Next door to the restaurant is Giovanni's Deli, a delicatessen selling Italian produce as used in the restaurant's kitchens.
