2/4/2013. Well what can we say - The Crossbow was the best places to eat. Found the 2 lady's to be lovely. We had a lovely meal, and cream tea the best you can have.
Will be going back later in the year. Lovely lady that took our order, and the other lady behind the bar, well she did not stop talking and made us welcome. So thank you!

On Saturday. We stopped at this restaurant to eat. How lovely it was... Lovely food and the staff were lovely. Can't wait to go back next year.
Fish pie, mixed grill and the cream teas were the best in Cornwall.

I always order cheesy or normal chips. It was the best chips that have ever been in mine and my friends mouth. I wouldn't even go to another place to get chip because they are just amazing. I don't see why they are getting bad reviews they are all such lovely people and I wish them a successful future.

On 13 th August my partner and l ordered our evening meals. l wanted the fish pie. This was on the menu as " Fish pie. Salmon, smoked fish, white fish, prawns in a creamy leek sauce topped with mashed potato." What l was served was 6 quarter inch cubes and 3 half inch cubes of fish and 1 prawn !! The total fish content was less than a tablespoonful. There was a small piece of leek, minimal amount of sauce but LOTS of mashed potato !!! Bearing in mind that the contents should be listed in order of their quantity l had assumed that there would be plenty of fish and assumed, considering that we were in Cornwall, that this would be fresh fish. This was the worst meal that l have EVER been served. As l am not happy with a dish of mashed potato as a meal l did not eat it. l would advise anyone to avoid eating at the Crossbow Tintagel. So, not only, as others have commented, is the service bad but so is the food. l have sent my complaint to the Trading Standards Officer for Cornwall. As l cannot complete this review without marking a " star rating " l have given 1 * but in reality would say NO STARs at all !!

I see that the 16th was a bad day to visit, I found the staff very abrupt and rude, they appeared to have had an argument and felt it was fine to take this out on the customers. I have no idea what the food was like did not bother to stay. <y advice pick one of the other quaint tea rooms in Tintagel !!!! :(

We stopped here on a rainy afternoon on 16th August. The staff were unwelcoming and curt. We ordered a cream tea, a crab sandwich and a cappuccino. It took 15 minutes for the pot of tea and coffee to arrive - no scones or cream or sandwich and the pot of tea arrived without a cup! 10 minutes later I had to ask a member of staff who was clearly at lunch for a cup for the tea, and as to where the rest of the cream tea was and also my sandwich. She consulted with the waitress who, after a short row said "They will just have to wait". I was unimpressed to say the least. She then came over to us and in a confrontational manner told us off for asking about our food and informed us that she was on her own and we would just have to wait. I said that I was unhappy with what I had heard her say - she replied “you’ll just have to get stuffed then”. We left! Don't go to this restaurant unless you want rubbish service and rude staff. I can’t say what the quality of the food is like, we never got any!
