Shame to read such poor reviews. Just returned home after delicious meal. There was 8 of us. Service and food superb.Great table with plenty of space. All locally sourced food which is reflected in the price but well worth it. You get what you pay for. I would happily recommend to friends and look forward to my next visit.

I phoned and left answer phone message for 19.30 - 20.00, got reply next day saying table is booked as requested for 20.30!. On arrival were told our table was still "rather busy" and could we wait a while at the bar until the couple at the table had finished.
45 mins later we were shown to table, starters were delivered quite quickly (probably because we were kept waiting so long?), my wife had John Dory for main course and was told it should be a starter really but for an extra £2.00 she could have an extra fillet.
I said to the waitress "is it ok if we pop out for a quick cigarette" which we did, only to come back to find the table completely cleared, my wife's almost full glass of wine and my half a glass of beer had been thrown out and we were getting stared at as the place had emptied quite quickly, we were going to order dessert, but didn't bother £72.00 later we left.
Definitely won't be going back...

Atmosphere and restaurant fine. Food disappointing. Portions small, don't visit if hungry.The size of the steamed pudding was a joke! Toilets cramped.Won't be returning.

I have to agree that it is very packed in here but I do think the food here is very good. Probably won't go back after our last visit though as they put us on a table which had plants overhanging it that had been watered that day. Water kept dripping onto us and our food and when mentioning it to staff (who I think are usually very good) they sort of laughed it off.

We went for a birthday on very good reccomendation and absolutely hated it. We were packed in like sardines, the staff were dissmissive and uninterested the food was frankly missable.
By all means try other places like mannings or saffron which for comparable prices are in a different class. The nicest part of the restaurant were the toilets (actually did have room to swing a cat in there )
Most disspaointing meal out we have ever had in Truro wont be going back.
