My daughter and I went to Brooks for afternoon tea. Glad we booked a table it was busy. The afternoon tea was very good.

We were brought a tea pot of tea and a cake stand with sandwiches on the bottom tier and scones and cake on the top a dish with damson jam which tasted really nice and a pot of cream. There was a choice of sandwiches in brown and white bread egg and cress, salmon cucumber and egg. It all tasted really fresh and as much tea or hot water you could drink. It was a good afternoon out we both enjoyed it.

I had lunch here today, it was a lasagne from the daily specials board. It was a delicious! It tasted freshly made and was full of flavour. There was a salad on the side and again, that tasted very fresh and there was a choice of dressings for it.

The cakes and bread are delivered from the local Maughns bakery. I had a fairy cake for afters that was lovely!

There are only a few tables (4) and I think in time there could do with being more - not sure how though, this is definitely something that Mirfield needs as it was busy throughout my visit with people both sitting down and collecting phoned through orders.

There is a shop area with loads of cheese, and cakes to takeaway as well as jars of olives and crackers. I hope it does well, it deserves to.
