On most of our restaurant visits, however good the overall experience, there tends to be something you'd like to change for the better - Bridge Bistro was faultless!
We'd booked a table at another of the town's restaurants for our anniversary meal and just happened to walk past Bridge Bistro, liked what we saw and popped in, We were shown a sample menu, with the proviso that it changes every week, and decided to take a chance.
On our night, 19th May, the bistro was in the hands of two young ladies who ran the night's proceedings in a friendly, unobtrusive and entirely efficient way. A genuine welcome, not rushed into ordering, pleasant chat - a work ethic that's rarely seen in the UK, appearing to really enjoy and take pride in making our visit special.
The wine list was sufficiently extensive and well priced with simple, unpretentious descriptions of the wines and the menu was what we like best - large enough to allow for plenty of choice - I'm always wary of extensive menus, they often disappoint with insufficient attention given to each choice.
We've lived in Wadebridge for 10 years and tried most restaurants in the area. A few good ones have fallen by the wayside - maybe because of lack of interest from locals off-season - we can only hope that Bridge Bistro is here to stay - it's a little gem.
