We decided to try this pub. People had said it was good so we thought it was worth a try.
Oh how disappointed we were!
Upon entering the pub there was no indication as to what the process was. No one spoke or acknowledged us being there. The bar area only had a few customers so they were not too busy as to miss us. Once we entered the restaurant the lady showed us to a nice table which was clean and well presented. The decor was light and clean.
We ordered cod and chips. The food was very poor. The cod had no taste and was thin with a water like texture. The 'home made' chips were not home made. The peas were not sweet. The tartare sauce never made it to the table?
I left most of my food and my wife did not eat much more of her meal.
My wife did move on to try a pudding of syrup sponge and custard which looked ok, but she commented on how basic it tasted.
This was a meal with no soul and love but more like something from a 1970's roadside cafe.

We visited the Blacksmiths Arms due to food being unavailable at our nearby hotel. This proved to be a most fortunate circumstance.
The menu has a wide range of first and main courses. The meal was excellent, well-cooked and presented, with generous portions.
The service was friendly, helpful and efficient.
The value for money was better than almost all pubs we have visited.
If they ever move to South Yorkshire we will be there every week
