Went to the bargate cafe on the 21st August 2012. Having night fished Shearwater the previous night we went there for a bite to eat, what a real let down it was, no menu board but I suppose not much point if there only offering bacon butty, sausage sandwich or a burger, and a few bought in sandwiches on display which looking back would of been better, I ordered two cheese burgers and a bottle of juice £9.80 it came to, I thought how expensive but didn't question it, was hopeful to getting a nice burger but we didn't, the most greasy and horrible burger I have ever had was presented in a 1980s polystyrene box. Dry bun, cheapest bought in burger and cheese slices. Sorry to moan but go back a year or two it was a lovely place to go, cook breakfasts, fresh jackets and even lasagne to name but a few. I find this a real let down to Shearwater and its many visitors, produce a simple home cooked menu board like the olden days and that place would be buzzing, what a lovely spot it is on do it justice and enjoy doing it, if you can't then just continue what your doing, charging the earth for what? Also toilets needs to be cleaned maybe a toilet rota would be good idea, hope people find this helpful.
