I really enjoyed my meal here - really good steak with a well made mushroom duxelle and good chips. Service was good if a little busy.
Nice relaxed restaurant/bar - I will return.

Why aren't there more restaurants like this? Simple interior, simple menu, good food and good service.
The ribeye steak with cafe de paris butter I had here for lunch was delicious, and came cooked as ordered.
Staff were friendly, but seemed rushed off their feet when it was packed - perhaps they needed an extra person on. Gets busy, so booking is a good idea - but there is a bar where you can have a drink while you wait for a table.

I ate here just before Christmas with a friend. It's somewhere I've thought about going for a while but I just haven't got around to it.
I started with a crab and cockle chowder and then had beer battered haddock and chips. All the food was very nice, but quite filling and neither of us could manage a dessert!
The service was friendly and the staff were there when you needed them, this is definitely somewhere I'll head back to.
