Rather disappointed with the Albatross, stuck down in a basement somewhat claustrophobic. The mussels were of poor quality although plenty of them, the mixed seafood was particularly a let down, more mussels and squid but little else. The wife had a pasta dish which was and looked more appetising. Best thing were the attentive staff but the taped music made you wish you had brought a personal sound system that you could plug yourself into.

We had seen a poor review of this place, but went to see what it was like. We booked on the spot and then went back the next day-surperb. It ticked every book and was exactly what an Italian restaurant should be like; food, service and everything was great. The only problem is that I live so far away I can't visit more often. We went with a coach company called Just Go, and that's what I advise you. Just go.

5 star all round.....the food was delicious service was amazing they make you feel really comfortable and it feels like you've just gone to italy it's AMAZING xxxx

We visited the Albatross yesterday(on a day out in Gt Yarmouth). The food was excellent...service was great...owner and waiter very friendly. We all agree it was the nicest lasagne and carbonara we have ever had! When are you opening a restaurant in Southend?
