Great British Menu 2011
North East : N. Ireland : North West : Central : South West : Scotland : Wales : South East
The Great British Menu 2011 returns on April 4th for a sixth series, with the program will sticking to the familiar format of chefs cooking four courses (starter, fish course, mains and dessert). The theme of this year’s show will be sharing, with chefs asked to produce sharing platters designed to encourage the diner to interact with the food and their fellow diners. Following the sharing theme, the chefs will be paying visits to community groups and organisations in their local area who bring people together through food. The winning chefs will cook their dishes at an event called The People’s Banquet to be held at the beautiful Leadenhall Market in London.

Great British Menu judges Oliver Peyton, Prue Leith and Matthew Fort
Like last year, the regular judging panel of food critic and writer Matthew Fort, restauranteur Oliver Peyton and writer, broadcaster and founder of Leith’s cookery school, Prue Leith will be joined by a judge from each region during the heats. Guest judges are expected to include Jason Atherton who is soon to open his first solo restaurant, Pollen Street Social in May and Michelin star holder Angela Harnett who recently took over ownership of Mayfair restaurant Murano from Gordon Ramsay.
